- Are Kind & Fern bath boxes plant-based?
- We aim to source skin-friendly, plant-based and environmentally-friendly ingredients wherever we can - always avoiding excessive chemicals and plastic-based ingredients. Full ingredient lists are on every product page, including any allergens.
- How do you source ingredients?
- We aim for skin-friendly, plant-based, environmentally-friendly ingredients like beautiful essential oils, and steer clear of excessive chemicals and plastic-based fillers. Our boxes are made in the UK, balancing deep care for little ones' skin with a dash of colourful fun.
- What if my child reacts to a product?
- Every child is different - please check the ingredient list on each product page and be mindful of any known intolerances. In case of irritation, rinse thoroughly and stop use. If the reaction worsens, please seek medical advice.
- Where do you ship?
- Kind & Fern ships across Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales). We're not able to ship to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland right now - we're working on it. Boxes are packed and posted in weekly batches, so keep an eye out for your dispatch confirmation.
- What if this month's themed box sells out before I subscribe?
- Our themed boxes are made in small batches each month, so they can sell out. When that happens, just pick Rainbow instead - it's our evergreen classic and always in stock. Either way, that's your first box, then you're settled into our regular monthly rotation from the next one on. Got your heart set on a particular box? - How does the monthly subscription work?
- You get a themed box every month. Payment is taken when you sign up, then monthly on the same rhythm. If this month's batch has sold out, or the month is nearly over, your payment is still taken now and your first delivery comes from next month's batch - after that you fall into the regular monthly rotation and are always guaranteed a box. You can pause, skip or cancel anytime from your customer portal.
- Can I cancel or pause the subscription?
- Yes. The Splash Subscription can be paused, skipped or cancelled anytime from your account. You can also choose to purchase a one-off box for yourself or the perfect gift.
- How long will it take to deliver my order?
- Most of our products are freshly handmade to order, then packaged just for your family. So we quote 5-8 business days to give us time to get it ready for you. Our monthly Splash Edit is designed just for that month, we curate it from scratch to bring you some colourful bathtime joy. Note that if you try to start a subscription close to the end of the month, or after we've sold out of that month's splash, you'll make your first payment but join the next month's order cycle. Then, you settle into the following month payment & delivery together.
- What ages are the bath boxes for?
- The Splash Edit is designed for families with children - we advise that our products are suitable for ages 3+ and are especially loved by roughly 3-11 year olds. Of course, you know your children best and everyone is different!
- What age are your bath bombs suitable for?
- Our bath bombs are designed for children aged 3 and up, and are especially loved by 3-11 year olds. Around 3 to 5 the appeal is sensory - the fizz, the colour, the pouring - and from about 6 to 11 it shifts to role-play and simple science. As always, you know your child best: patch test if you're unsure and supervise bath time.
- Are your bath bombs safe for sensitive skin?
- We aim to source skin-friendly, plant-based and environmentally-friendly ingredients, avoiding excessive chemicals and plastic-based ones. For very sensitive skin or eczema, please check the full ingredient list on each product and chat to your GP if you're unsure.
- Do your bath bombs contain glitter or microplastics?
- No. We avoid glitter and plastic-based fillers entirely - anything that goes down the drain should be kind to the planet, not just to little skin.
- How many baths will I get out of one box?
- That depends! You will usually receive around nine separate packs with eleven products so you could use one per bath. Or, we find mixing from different items is part of the fun - a few teenies with a sprinkle of salt, a soap scrub whilst surrounded by colourful dust. That's the point, it's all up to your imagination & how you choose to do your bathtimes. So, it could be anything from 9-19!
- Where are the bath boxes made?
- Our boxes are lovingly created in Hitchin, UK. We source our components (products, ingredients, packaging) from the UK where possible, and always strive to use ethical and sustainable sources.
- Will your bath products stain?
- With normal, supervised bath time - popping products into the water rather than holding onto them - you shouldn't see any staining at all, and we've had zero reports of bath staining. If little hands do grip a teenie or rock for longer than a splash, you might see some colour linger on skin - the good news is all our colours are cosmetic or food grade, so this fades just like a blackberry or beetroot stain would. Do take extra care with highly porous surfaces like marble or quartz, which are famous for soaking up colour a bit like a coffee or tea ring.
- Are your products vegan?
- Yes - all our products are vegan and cruelty-free.
- Is your packaging sustainable?
- We've worked very hard to make our packaging as sustainable as possible. Bath products are wonderfully water-soluble, so they need protecting on their way to you and in warm, steamy bathrooms - every part of our packaging, bar the compliance label on the back of your pouches, is recycled, recyclable or biodegradable. As we grow and can place bigger orders, we're hoping to open up bespoke sustainable packaging too.
